Learner Registration

NAERF provides a structured registration process for learners enrolled in alternate curricula within South Africa.

This applies to:

  • Learners attending independent centres

  • Homeschool learners following recognised international programmes

  • Students enrolled in Cambridge, Pearson Edexcel, Oxford, Montessori, Waldorf, GED, and other recognised alternate pathways

Learners enrolled in CAPS under the Department of Basic Education do not require NAERF registration.

Purpose of Registration

Registration through NAERF provides:

  • A unique recognized student registration number for each learner

  • Formal recognition within the alternate education framework

  • Structured record-keeping and transparency

  • Assurance to parents that their child’s learning environment is compliant and credible

  • Protection and ethical handling of data in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA)

Registration Fees & Payment

  • Annual Student Registration Cost: R280

  • Payments are processed securely through the Google Form

This ensures that each student receives their unique registration number and is officially recognised within the NAERF framework.
